Well, I thought my heart would explode with the angst of the main character, Kate (or Katie, as her sweet love calls her)! Overall, it's a very sweet, touching story about two people in love with each other for years. It had a nice twist in the middle, and is written decently enough. I'm sure I'll be reading more of Price's sweet Amish romances for sure!Product details

I chose this book because I the title intrigued me, as did the synopsis. It isn't really a book (novel), it's more like a short story or novella. The Amish genre and faith is interesting. I look forward to reading the remaining stories in this series.
Katie has loved Benjamin since they were children. Even though Benjamin told her when she was 14 he would marry her, he married another girl. Katie heartbroken goes on with her life trying to forget Benjamin. Circumstances force Katie to return back home. What is in store for Katie ? I thought the book ended too abruptly to give it a 5. This is part one of series.
I am still in the process of reading it but I love the story and intend on reading the rest of it after my kindle gets powered up. I really like to order stories especially novelettes from . This particular story of how a 20 year old could not forget the love of her life even though he is married I can identify with. We all have romantic dreams which are personified in the Amish romances. You can almost guess how they are going to end but I love them just the same. Perhaps this one will have a surprise ending? If I were to write it I would have the wife dying in childbirth which would make him eligible once more to marry again. Anyhow, it is a great story.
This was a freebie for me and I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised. Very good reading. I have a hard time selecting good books from the Christian freebies. The last few books have been pretty good and I hope to continue to select the better freebies. I cannot spend money on books as I read too fast and it is too costly buying them so I do appreciate good Christian freebies.

What I like in this book is a short version of a fairytale romance, it teaches a lesson on patience and perseverance. True love can stand the worst of times and weather all obstacles. There's truth to "haste makes waste." If only Benjamen did not make a hasty decision to help Lydia in her predicament, then time wouldn't have been wasted of his chance to marry Kate from the start as it should've been. Such wasted time! Such wasted lives. But at least everything came back in Hid's own time. Good ready, highly recommended!
This was a sweet book about the Amish community and a young girl who had left for four years prior to her baptism. Kate left because she could no longer see the man she loved be married to someone else. Finally things worked out after many twists and turns and they ended up married to each other. A very enjoyable read and I certainly recommend this book to any young girl who likes to read. My book was downloaded onto my from
Kate told a very touching and delicate love story with a beautiful arc to it. She loved. Her love was unrequited, at least, so she thought, and then fate intervened, and gave us a beautiful unexpected ending to the story.
Apart from so much insight into the love lives amongst the Amish, their simple way of life, their dos, and don’ts, life, seen from the eyes of those who live is good. Otherwise, why could Kate leave and return?
It was great to see how those Amish parlance, used in the story, were written in italics. That way, the author said her bit without have to explain the words used to say it. I enjoyed the story, especially the twists. The entry of Liz at the tail end of the story prepared the reader’s mind to the continuation of the story at another time. This is not a fast moving story, but is deliberately easy going, with a lot of repetitions. This book could have been tighter without those repetitions.
